Vegan raw vanilla apple pie

--> recette en français

    The full season of apples is almost at its end so I wanted to try a new recipe. Some eat them all year long but I don't think they taste really good in summer, also I eat enough apples all the rest of the year to enjoy all the yummy fruit Summer has to offer.

   I'm an apple pie fan, yes, the most simple recipes are often the better ! But this time, I'm taking you to towards raw cuisine. We talk about living food because vitamins and nutrients are not damaged through the process of cooking - because there's no cooking obviously or it doesn't go beyond 40°c (100°f).

Apple pie cinnamon porridge / oatmeal

--> recette en français

   Today is the World Porridge Day, this event is quite recent and was created in 2009 by the charity Mary's Meals  based in Scotland in order to raise funds to help starving children in developing countries.

   To that occasion, I made a new seasonal porridge/oatmeal recipe, with cooked and raw apple and spices for a filling and healthy breakfast to face those future Winter cold days.

Avocado cucumber apple cold soup

--> recette en français

   If you've been following the blog for quite some time, you may have noticed that I love soup, I repeat it each time I publish a soup recipe. Whether warm and comfy in Winter or fresh and light in Summer, it's a good way to stay hydrated and eat veggies, legumes or even cereals in a simple manner.

   Lately, we've been brainstorming about what to do with our huge numerous cucumbers we have at work with my colleagues apart from tzatziki and salads and we talked about cold soups. One of them made a cold cream with cucumber and some "kid cheese" as I like to call it, I don't know if it exists outside of France but to me and cheese amateurs, it's not really cheese, it's something chewy wrapped into individuals packs. Anyway,  thought about what to use instead and I thought about avocado to bring some creamy texture.

Raw Spring pointed cabbage, fennel, carrot and apple salad, almond butter and soy sauce seasoning

--> recette en français

    A few days ago, I stumbled on a type of cabbage I didn't even know about called "chou pointu" which means "pointed cabbage" in French because of the shape its leaves give it. It's a Spring cabbage, sweeter and more easily digestible. Its leaves are tender and slick. It had been a while since I wanted to make a raw cabbage salad so I gave it a try.

   Lately, the weather has ben very ugly in France and I kind of only crave for comforting and warm dishes but I thought a good salad would be nice to celebrate May.

   I had a fennel and a carrot to use in the fridge and I thought that an apple would bring some sharpness. If you don't like fennel just skip it and put more cabbage.

Apple and pumpkin butter (vegan)

--> recette en français

    A year ago, I published a recipe of raisins scones (not on the English version yet...) that lots of readers had seemed to enjoy.

   This delicious preparation needed its own article as the recipe seemed a little long with both the scones and the butter, it will also be easier to find it on the blog. You can enjoy it to replace jam or in yogurt or even with pancakes or waffles.

Red fruit, apple and cinnamon sweet scrambled eggs or omelette

--> recette en français

   A few months ago already, I saw a sweet omelette recipe went by on Pinterest and it really intrigued me but I wasn't more curious than that. You may have noticed it - and as I said it in my 3 year-anniversary blog post - I've been "veganizing" my cooking and diet lately. I used to love eggs - I could eat some 2 or 3 times a week, fried eggs, soft-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs - I think I got bored and kind of stopped to buying eggs just like that and it's a good thing because I don't have to force myself to quit eating them even if I still buy some from time to time to use in some pastries - but always organic or free-range of course.

   I don't remember why I thought again about that recipe but I thought that it the time to try it with the beginning of the red fruit season and the end of the apples and that if it was a tasty success I would share it with you. I've never been a fan of omelettes so I went for scrambled eggs instead, so you can enjoy this recipe for breakfast, as a dessert or a snack. And if you're watching your cholesterol, you can only use egg whites of course!

Apple pie rice pudding seeds granola parfait (vegan, gluten free)

--> Recette en français ici.

    Last week, I took part to a monthly food culinary challenge and this month's theme was about seeds we had to use in our recipe in addition to a seasonal fruit or vegetable.

   As my father's birthday was last Wednesday, I decided to mix two of his favorite desserts, the rice pudding and the apple pie, in a jar. I made an apple granola full of seeds and dried fruit for the "crust" in put at the bottom of the jar, a vanilla vegan (or not) poppy seed rice pudding, topped with a vanilla apple compote.

Apple Flognarde { French regional apple clafoutis }

   You must know the clafoutis, a French fruit dessert that looks a little like a flan but is less thick. Today, I present to you the apple flognarde, a French regional dessert, sort of apple clafoutis that comes from the Limousin region, in the center of France.
